Deep Work made me realize how distracted I actually am

Focus is rare — and that’s why it’s valuable.

Book: Deep Work — Cal Newport

You think you can focus. You can’t.

You check your phone every few minutes, switch tabs, scroll randomly, and still believe you're “working”. You’re not. You’re just being busy.

Deep work is the ability to focus without distraction on something meaningful. And in today’s world, that’s a superpower.

Again, think in ME/I/MYSELF. If someone says they studied for 5 hours, do you believe them? Or do you assume half of it was distractions? Exactly.

The people who actually sit down and work without interruptions are the ones who win. Not because they’re smarter, but because they go deeper.

Final thought

If you can focus, you’re already ahead of most people.
